Went out to the garage last night abd heard some strange, non Minor, noises. Looked under cupboards and boxes and moved piles of rubbinsh and eventually found this
Gave him/her a bit of milk, bread and cereal before eviction!!!
I think it was looking for the ignition cut off to get the Mog started but thankfully failed

Not sure it's bad for them, but I know dog/cat meat is the right stuff to give 'em

Only had either fish or hampster food and as I don't know how long the little critter had been in the garage I thought something was better than nothing!!

'fraid that's true.

Can give them diarrhoea and they can dehydrate.

Lovely to have been kind to Hog, but definately water and meat cat/dog food. Not milk and bread as a regular feed.

What can I feed ‘my’ garden hedgehog?
A meat based pet food is fine, the plainer the better, also a little dried hedgehog or cat food is good as it keeps the teeth sharp and clean. However, they can be very fussy and very cheap foods are not always acceptable. If you have a problem with cats stealing the food, try offering some unsweetened museli or weetabix and a handful of raisins. Alternatively a feeding station can be used. The idea is to provide something that is high enough for the hedgehog and its food to go under, but too low for a cat to reach the food.

You could try a paving slab on bricks (leave a gap between 2 of the bricks as an entrance hole) or get one of those blue plastic mushroom boxes (from supermarkets). Cut a 5” x 5” hole in one of the short sides so that when the box is upside down the hole becomes an entrance. Put the food at the far end and weigh the box down with a stone. Fresh water is the best thing to offer as a drink.

Odd how we can grow up doing these things and they seem the right things to do.

I recently bought two guinea pigs and learnt that one should never keep them with rabbits. Rabbits have been known to kick and seriously harm the pigs.

We always fed bread to the ducks and guineas were always with a bunny....

I would imagine a Hedgehog with diarrhea could be quite lethal. One decent blast of wind and 3,000 spikes heading your way at Mach two

Ah yes, Irn Bru - made in Scotland from girders - just like me - except when on holiday last week in Switzerland, dislocated my shoulder at the top of a mountain and had to be airlifted to hospital. I was wearing a "made in Scotland" sweatshirt at the time though....
