hey guys thought i would treat you to a few pictures of my minor

NZ 1951 series mm with sidevalve





about a month after getting it i removed the reminants of some rotting 70's house carpets and por-15'd the floors and boot

the day i got it, i found out the generator was poked, luckily my cousin has a tow truck

so it sat here for a week or two until i got a generator form a morry thou




as she stands now

have painted the boot lid also and removed the rear bumper

as you can see shes seen slightly shinier days, looks to have been resprayed in original colour at some point (a very dark greenish grey, if the bits hidden under the badges etc were anything to go by)

i plan on painting the rest satin black, and then il have my own mini lead sled [/img][/url]

early 4 stud ford falcon rims (13x4.5) fitted with 13/70/185 - perhaps a little balloonie than i would prefer, but they do look quite nice width wise. The rolling diameter isnt too far out either

installed a tiny amp to run from my mp3 player (yuh wires have since been tided - even used grommets and everything

and started making up a blanking panel to hide the compartment where the sparewheel etc is
will carpet it or soemthing along with the boot

looks good, I really like the way those rear wheels fill the arches

with bangin wheels like that you also need a bangin/er engine

mocking up new instrument panel with matching amps and mechanical water temp gauges

will also add a switch panel somewhere

Very steam punk ... but I have to ask .. what is with the pants paint-job, and the dodgy cuts in your dash?

You managed a circle for the spedometer, but the oil guage is just careless .. IMO



Most steam-punk work is quite arty, the victorians were well known for the quality of their finish, it looks to me like you have a great taste in terms of your selection of parts, I see what you are heading for, but IMO you need to take more care in your execution or it will just look like an old banger that someone has knocked together.

I dont mean to be insulting, it's just my £0.02

- of course i am planning to modify the standard instrument panel to fit in these new gauges - so it should all look factory

as for the paint job - its waiting for me to get around to sanding it back (grey is a guide coat) and respray

not sure what i want to do with the surround - most of the original paint and lettering has come off

tossing up between reproducing the lettering or just polishing it up

The oil gauge is the original circular unit. If you can cut out the inst. panel holes it should look good. The Morris Oxford MO had a 4 gauge inst. panel but with more space to fit it. Not sure about needing a rev counter, valve bounce should limit the revs.
Are you going to fit a clock in the glove box lid? Quartz replica clocks are available over here. I can give you the supplier details.

You slipped the last photo in whilst I was writing this. Ok you are going to fit a clock but as I said the replica one matches the speedo.

the numbers and that black part in this clock are removable - so i may get around to making it match a bit more

Yea that brown panel was just to sort out the spacing i would need

not surprised i had a set of engine mounts in the boot (the gearbox ones look like they have been replaced)

I think those engine mounts are a little bit past it. M 1000 gearbox mounts will fit although the threads are a little short.
