Interpret an A series motor number

Post by ppomeroy »

I have acquired an A-series motor with serial number APJM-H-72593. I believe that it is an early Minor engine, but does anyone have more detail? I am more familiar with Sprite/Midget motor nominclature.
Thanks!

minors use the same numbering system, and so do all the other cars as far as Im aware.

Is it a recon (gold/silver seal) unit? They have somewhat different engine no's.

Not a standard number - so it's someone's recon ref. What does the little plate on the side say - if it's still there?
