I recently visited a small local classic car spares shop and asked for a replacement set of points and a condenser for my Morris 1000. The points are ok but the condenser is new old stock Motorcraft part EDC 193. I asked if this was the correct part as it said ford on the packaging. However, he said it was the correct replacement part but made by Motorcraft.

Can anybody back this up, as I am a bit unsure whether to fit it or not?
. :-?

The capacitance dosn't matter too much - so if it fits in the dizzy ok - it will be fine.

At a pinch - a condenser can be mounted outside the dizzy- from the input lead to earth, and it works fine there. A radio suppressor can be used there in emergency.
