Sorry if this has been covered before but I was wondering if all minors where positive earth or what year did they change? I have just got my first minor and bought it without a battery! I assumed it was negative earth but now I'm wondering! I have had it running with neg earth connected and nothing exploded! but I'm wondering if I've knackered the dynamo! The car is a 1970? J reg. Thanks in advance, Croft

The battery connections are different sizes - they should only fit one way round. If dynamo, the car be converted to run either earth - but if it's been running and the red igntion light went out - then it should be fine !

All were positive earth. It's very easy to change to neg earth - in fact by running it you probably already have. You will have a weaker spark though unless you swap the leads on the coil around

If the heater fan makes a noise but is completely ineffective you may have to swap the motor polarity around. It seems that most heater motors work the same either way but the one on my 1970 saloon doesn't.
