Does anyone happen to know the thread of a Marina pipe to flexi brake union? If not, I'll just have to take the flexi to a parts place and go through what they have in stock, I guess - either that or try the Marina OC :D

Almost certainly m10 x 1 - the whole range (Mini (some parts)/Metro/Triumph etc all went metric).

That'd be good - factor far more likely to have metric...

I'd be surprised if a Marina had metric, though an Ital might. 3/8" UNF would seem more likely IMO, certainly my Triumph uses imperial throughout and it's from the same era. I don't know about the late master cylinders on Triumph SDpits/ Dolomites, but the only Triumph I can think of that might have been all metric would be the Aclaim!

Hmm - annoyingly, even though it's a MInor to Marina Googridge flexi, none of the Minor unions seem to fit it :(

Isn't the Minor 3/8" BSF though?

Neither the front nor the rear fit

BG,
There are 2 types of 3/8 BSF a 21 tpi and a 26tpi, you might find that its the latter. Give Automec a ring or google them they are very helpfull in providing information and cheap quality parts.

Great :) I'll give the local factor a go first, see if they can help - but they do seem to be a 'modern car/metric' lot, on the whole...

Minor is 3/8 UNF at the front - and 3/8 BSF at the rear axle. Most odd. If neither fits then it's almost certainly m10 x1 . My Triumph TR 7 is all m10 x 1 .

I didn' know that! All the unions looked the same on the new kit I bought and fitted to the pickup, and they all seemed to do up OK so I must've got it right somehow!

My Triumph TR 7 is all m10 x 1 .

I didn't realise that - Certainly the Dolomites I've had have been imperial, and though they were earlier designs most were built long into the TR7 production run. I wonder why BL decided to go that route, especially considering they expected the US to be the main market, and AFAIK the US was very imperial at the time.

The only reason for the difference at the rear -is the 3/8 BSF thread on the rear wheel cylinder arrangement which are actually Triumph TR 2 (and probably 2a and 3) brake cylinders! I can only assume Morris at the time decided to keep all the rear axle the same thread to 'avoid' confusion. If yours were 'all the same' Packedup - I suggest you check carefully in case some are in the wrong thread!

Did you ever find the correct thread for this Andrew ?

Haven't tried yet, as can't afford them even if I found them. Going hunting tomorrow though, and will post if successful :D

Good luck. What length do you need - I may have some Ford ones (nos) - male both ends - you could have. No use to me since I sold my Mini which had Fiesta calipers

Ahh well - m10 x 1 unions are normally 10 p each at autojumble.
