Hope this picture isn't too big------ the hole in the pump lets water out, I'm thinking it may be because it has stood for a long time, do you think it will seal? When a grease nipple was fitted to these pumps, was that the location. Any views received with thanx.

I think once the seal has started to go you will have to replace the pump sooner or later. Keep a close watch on the water level in the radiator and carry a bottle of water in the boot - you don't want to boil the engine dry.

To be honest it's not on the road yet, I've just checked out the electrical circuits and spun it up to see how it ran and to re-flush the system. When I drain and refill possibly best to change the pump, shame as there is no wear as far as I can tell, anyone know why the hole is there?

Is it in the same position? There is no thread in the hole for a nipple, wonder if I could thread it and add one.
