Some questions for the elite
Were the wing mirrors an original standard item or a custom aftermarket accessory?
What was the standard / preferred distance of the mirrors from the front, lamp end, or the back end of the wing.
I need to know cause I'm drilling Lucy very soon

They were an optional extra.
I am not sure of the exact location of fitting but all the cars I have had with them fitted were not exactly useful for extra visibility but just looked good.

Yep I know, but apart from looking good they are abit extra help when pulling out or overtaking. Just an average distance would be a good help,
cheers

Just measured some of ours. Roughly 17cm from the front edge of the wing to the centre of the hole you have to drill. Hope this helps

6 inches or so - but I've no idea if that's anything close to 17cm.
Oh, bit of mental maths and it sort of is

I beleive the valance is the correct type with a recess to match the cheese grater grille, unlike the 1000's which have a wider round cut.
With the ever increasing oil prices I'm doing away without an engine and lights!!!

What a good idea! Think of the reduction in pollution there would be if we all took the engines out!!

Now going to look for a pony and trap to go to shopping in!

oh right...proper valance. i have a proper one too, just mine is a bit sorry, so am thinking of getting a better one. saw that esm do fibreglass ones, was kind of hoping that was what you had and then you could recommend them as the best thing ever!

I recommend it cause that's what I have. For my standards it's a perfect fit. You have to be carefull not to overtighten for obvious fibre glass reasons.

Although in bits there's one hint for the splitty experts, picture 2 shows the v shaped back end bonnet
