Newbie introducing myself

Hi all, I joined a few weeks ago as I have decided to get an old Moggie back on the road. The car was bought by my dad 21 years ago and we both had the intentions of restoring her to former glory, but due to no particular reason we just stopped. I moved out into a house of my own and my dad asked If I could put it in the garage, where it sat. I have moved again and it came with me... a bit like a bad smell according to my wife. Anyway 21 years later I've taken the task up again, the car hasn't deteriorated at all. The little beauty even started after a service and a carb clean after 20 years of not being fired up!!!
It's a Clarendon Grey 1953 split screen (reg: UWL 706), one of the Delux models made late that year.
I've renewed the front brakes, repaired the master cylinder... rear brakes next! I've actually started to get quite attached to her so please excuse me if I ask any stupid questions. As to be honest I have never really been into working on cars. But love the idea of using this car as a general run about.
The wings are currently confusing me, can late front wings be adapted to fit an early series II (ie block up the indicator hole and redrill the hockey stick holes) and not be noticed by anyone? Also I may have late rear wings, but I'm unsure, the question is will this be noticed by uncle Tom Cobley and all if I were to fit them?
Thanks all
Dean
