Getting vibration through steering when braking at about 40mph. Sometimes better or worse than other times. Standard 1968 setup. Fine above and below that speed and no other problems with the steering.
Suggestins where to look please?
Cheers

I would start by having the wheel balance checked, then the brake drums to see if there is any ovality in them. Check for excessive play in the wheel bearings and suspension. Another prime suspect is the tie rod bushes.

Tie rod bushes are a good (cheap) start also wheel balance but that would probably show at other speeds too. Then go through the rest of the brakes.

Agreed. I found that just replacing the front ones of the tie bar bushes (no need to even remove the tie bar) fixed the judder I had under braking. I doubt it's wheel balance if it's only when braking but oval drums / warped discs etc. would be second on my list.
