Convertible hood frame catching

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me explain why the hood frame on the convertible catches in the top of the door frame.
Is it because the bolts / rivets have worn to the extent that is is dropping?
Has anyone else had this problem before??
Regards,
Jules

Usually yes. The joints wear, the frame flattens and the doors catch the tips of the cross-bars.

Many thanks. I thought it would be the cause, but this is my first convertible, so wasn't sure.
What's the best way to repair?? drill out and rivet again or bolt it?
This convertible seems to have had lots of use as the rear suspension springs are almost worn through and I've got to check the torsion bar position, but if correct has dropped alot !!!
Regards,
Jules

Yes -you could carefully drill out and fit snug fitting bolts.

Just be careful that the head of the bolt or the nuts don't rub, catch or snag/tare the hood! The rivets are smooth and don't stick out proud of the frame.

Indeed - larger rivets would probably be best!
