I went to fit the passenger glovebox lid and drivers side surround to the pickup the other day... And they don't seem to fit! They're off a 66 4 door, and looking at ESM they seem to think the LCVs used the earlier type of liner (and so covers?) throughout the run. Is this the case, and if so, does that mean the ealier type glovebox lid is a different shape and will actually fit? I think I've still got an earlier one kicking around somewhere (and maybe even the driver side surround too) but don't want to try and unearth it if it'll have the same problem!
Not that I've got any boxes in the dash for the taking of gloves (got very rough ones out the 4 door, but again, they apparently aren't right), but it'd be nice to at least have the metalwork in place...

no lcv`s had any outer covers, or glove box lids
glove boxes depended on the type of wiper moter used and year
the early ones i think had the wiper inside the glove box area hence the shaped bit on the outer sides of the glove box
the later ones where the wiper moter was in the engine bay had a more or less symetrical shape for the glove box inner, ie no area shaped to go by the internal wiper moter

Ahhh, right.
Well, as this is less than a concourse restoration, I still want metal bits!
Although infront of the steering wheel will most likely get an instrument panel eventually, and I'm thinking of building the stereo into the passenger box (either that, or under the lower shelf). It'd be nice to have a lid, especially if the stereo does go in there, keep it away from the theiving scumbag eyes that lurk in the shadows here most nights...
