i went to an event today at The Burlesdon Brickworks in Swanwick near Southampton (5 mins from junction 8 M27)
although the event was on a small scale it would make a great venue to hold a classic car event so with that in mind i got talking to the people who run the place and they are more than happy for me to organize such an event.
There is a lot to see and do including museum, make your own bricks, steam engines, miniature steam train rides, nice cafe with hot food, nature area to watch birds and squirrels, all in all a good family day out.
This is there website http://www.hampshirebuildings.org.uk/bu ... kworks.htm
It’s a bit lacking in info so i have put some picks on the following link for you all to see

before i go ahead and make any plans i would like to know if anyone would be interested in coming to such an event (would need at least 30 cars to make it worth while)
the plans would be as follows
event to take place on a Sunday june/july 2009
open to all classics not just moggies, although it would be called a moggy event
£5 entry fee to cover the cost of a rally plague plus trophies in the following sections
Best saloon + plus 2nd
Best traveller + plus 2nd
Best lcv + plus 2nd
Best convertible + plus 2nd
Best non moggy + plus 2nd
The car i would like to take home (chosen by the lady from the brick works)
So therefore 11 awarded prizes
Rather than have a panel of judges i thought it would be better to have self judging forms as i think this works well

The brickworks people are very keen for me to do this and subject to it being successful it could become a yearly event.
Okay so now i need to know who’s interested in coming before i go to stage 2
Also i need to think about the date so it don’t clash with over moggy events.

Please note this is not an official MMOC event (although all are welcome)
Finally, if i do go ahead i could probably do with a couple of volunteers on the day to help me marshal and run the event etc

Also it is possible for traders to attend or anyone wishing to do an autojumble (a small fee will be applicable for this)
Please feel free to leave me your thoughts and any other ideas
