So will you be heading around the M25?

General question: What's the better route? M1 or M11 A14 A1?

DP - I wouldn't say that either route was better than the other - it depends on whether you want to avoid long stretches of motorway or not. Personally, from where you are I'd go M11 / A14. That's the route I'll be taking. I travelled that way to last year's National and it was a reasonably pleasant journey. Scenery not too bad and plenty of places to stop if you need to

Hi

I'd like to link up but prefer the 'A' roads in my 918cc!

Happy to fit in any time Friday.

I'm sort of midway between Bedford and Northampton. On the A428. Maybe meet A14 @ Kettering?

Sidney is in Northampton ???? Will pm him.

Kettering would be a good place to meet Squiggle but I'm not sure yet whether I'll be travelling up on Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning.

I'm spending the week away from home on a training course in Kent so it depends on what time I get back into London. The Minor is all packed up and ready to go though (apart from cake / food supplies  ) so hopefully I'll make the beer tent for friday night

Squiggle, can you suggest a rendezvous point to aim for on A14@Kettering that would be easy to get to and has some room for a few cars (in case this grows) please?

Nominally we'll be setting of at 9ish from London - no idea how long it would take to get to Kettering but am aslo fairly adaptable on time.

Oooh er......I don't know Kettering at all. Will do some research.... unless someone on here can suggest a meeting place please?

A509 meets junction 9 of A14.

Good luck Sidney in getting the car on the road.

Just off A14 @ junction 9. Never been there but they do have a car park.

Peaceful village for those who need a rest........?

AA routeplanner says 82.1 miles to Kettering from Central London. Estimated time 1 hr 59 mins.

Or 76.1 miles to Pytchley taking 2hrs........

No problem. I'm happy to do a bit of research. All part of the adventure.

AND, don't laugh, I was feeling a bit shy about turning up at the rally on my own

Hope you're getting there with the car.......gaslight? What dedication :)
