i have fitted a new roller on dads sit and ride lawn mower.why do they supply bolts that are too big for the holes. i had to drill out the holes so i couuld get the bolts to fit poor design i think

Or roller not intended for that mower! Or - they have experience of bolt holes wearing - and so the bigger bolts are designed to take up the wear.

it was the right roller i agree with you they beefed everything up a bit.its a countax mower good briggs and stratton twin cyllinder engine rubbish linckages and blades etc
