Changing the steering rack gaiter.

Now,
I've heard that changing the gaiter on the steering rack can be a bit of a SOB, so I'm wondering what the best way to do it is?
Try and be a contortionist and do it in situ or remove the rack and do it off the car?

Obviously the track rod ends can be a pain to get off, getting the end of the gaitor on the rack and the clip on can be a little tricky but it's nothing a lot of swearing won't sort. Removing the rack without a willing helper is a real pain in the wotsnits and I don't recommend it!

I changed mine without any problems.
In fact worse thing was undoing / redoing the larger clamp on the rack end and even that wasn't too difficult.

I did it with the rack on the car; it was a swine of a job though due to poor access.

Okay. Looks like its a keep on car job....
Front wing off?

No, you don't need to take the wings off, just the wheels and the track rod ends.

You can tell I've not really scoped this job out yet can't you?
One of many still to do....

Worth checking if the track rod inner ball joint is 'loose' - if so - it can be tightened up while in there.
