just got back sat night, had a great time but sadly mildred became very ill on the way home and has to go to the mm hospital for a major heart transplant

If it makes you feel any better, we finished the last hour and a half on the back of a breakdown truck. The 'temporary' dynamo that replaced the new one, after first breaking its belt, started to melt

it used 1 gallon of oil onthe way over but coming back we used nearly 3 gallons, having said that she got us home (bless her)

i've been thinking about upgrading to a 1300cc and 5 speed for a while now, so now is as good as time as any

still never mind we had a good time though

We were all booked ready to go but the late arrival of a new grandson, with slight complications caused cancellation.

So, any photos and what was the weather like this year?

It's a shame you didn't make it, the weather was very good, but congratulations on the new grandson, a potential new Moggy owner naturally has to take precedent

Just arrived home tonight.
Wendys traveller didn't miss a beat and made it up the hill out of Dover with a large amount of beer aboard.
I had problems with a "reconditioned" dynamo on an MOT several years ago in my van.
On the road just outside Dover I turned on the lights and the charge warning light came on
Managed to complete the whole MOT by swapping batteries with another Minor in the convoy every few hours.
Its amazing what spares people carry and there is always plenty of help if you have a problem.

Lizzy drove the whole way there without fault, and several hundred miles during the week. She was totaly well behaved.

50 miles leaving the camp to come home, 2nd gear failed (simply wont select so assume the synchro has failed, double clutch wont get it either)

gear box is recon and only 14 months old (typical!)

poor gilr limped me home 380 miles running 1-3-4, she always gets me home, but she sounds rough now. Bit rumbly so fear that the mains main be giving up! So I'll have to swap the box for the one I have in the garage to get the national in, and then consider 5 speed and full engine rebuild ASAP. (clearly the 1275 is going to eat gearboxes)

otherwise I loved the MOT, was great fun, had a lot of laughs, lots of relaxing and chilling out, lots of new friends. I'll be back next year hopefully in better car health
