It might be more appropriate in anothe sectoin, but i figured since we all suffer dead screw heads then it should get maximum exposure.

Had a set for a couple of years.

Not great but not bad either.

Normally just as easy to drill the head off a screw and if you have rear access take thread off with a pair of pliers.

I have a set. I wouldn't have bought it, but was given it last Christmas.

Having said that its got me out of trouble once or twice!

I saw that in Wilkinson's last week but didn't buy one because I'm not convinced it will work as well as they claim. If Roger's used it successfully though maybe I will succumb to the flashy display the next time I'm in there! ;)

Just use a dremel with a tiny cutting wheel and cut as deep a slot as you can into the screw head, then use a flat head screwdriver to remove screw.

I too have bought some screw extractors and found them to be less than useful. Got them from Toolstation not JML so much cheaper. http://www.toolstation.com/shop/DrillBi ... 110/sd1400

I've already got a set of those and they're not the same kind of thing. You have to drill a hole for the tapered reverse screw to bite into, and that won't work with a woodscrew because you'll just end up drilling the head off.

I got mine last year and looking more closely at the catalogue picture they look different to the current Toolstation ones (reverse thread), the cutting end looks more like the JML ones. I havent had much luck with them.

Not many wood screws on a Minor - a few on a Traveller of course - but I doubt the value of these devices.
