Split screen window fitting

Perhaps this is well know, but i found out today that fitting the windscreen is done with the glass and rubber assembled away from the car, and brought inside, using a cord around the screen to pull the rubber over the aperture to the outside of the car.
Finally the chrome can be re-inserted and centre pillar rubber and chrome put back in place.

i ve tried that so many times. it just wont go. car been without a screen for years. garaged luckly

I've done this job a few times but pulled the cord from the inside, as far as I know this is the correct way on a one piece screen, but yours sounds like a split screen so may well be done differently!

oh yes sorry les. the one piece is from the inside, its not to difficult. i am stuck trying to put my split screen back. theres a little discussion taking place in tip section i think. theres been a few post about this matter. its got me stuck for adges now.
