please could any one advise me on how to change my convertable roof?
my dad brought it for me and told me he would fit it but now that the time has come that the tears are begining to leak it seems that he has become a little less confident, and now has confessed that he does not have a clue. The closest he has come to doing any thing like this is blowing up a rubber dinghy and putting a canvas roof on a landrover that was fitted for it by landrover when all he really did was tighten the ropes also fitted he became to realise he was good at tying knots (must of had something to do with the cubs.)
So from now on it has turned into my project (superdad dropped at the first hurdle) so is there anybody that knows how to fit it or that can fit it for a reasonable price

Welcome to the forum. Can't help with Minor roof - I'm just about to fit a new roof on my TR7 - and dreading it. One thing I plan though is to NOT use 'poppers' - I plan to use velcro tape at the edges since all that's wrong with my old roof is some tears at the old poppers. I'm sure a Minor roof expert will be along in a minute or two. Would be good if you took pictures of the whole process - and wrote it up for us as you go ! Good luck with it.

The most important things you need to change the roof are patience, good weather and care.
You will also need to check that the parts of the hood frame are in good order (rust will stain the hood fabric) paying particular attention to the wooden sections front and rear as they take the tension forces when the hood is closed. A fan heater is also worth using to get the material to stretch.
If you send me a PM with your address I will post you a photocopy of an article on how to do the job.
