These clips holding the plywood in place can be real #%@#$*& to release. I hope you have kept your old plywood from the project car as this is the best way to locate these clips in the donor car.
It is possible to use a loose hacksaw blade (the 10mm x 300mm approx size) to release these clips. If you look at your destroyed plywood you can see that the clips spring down to lock behind the inner screen aperture "roll".
You can slide the hacksaw blade at an angle to get under the clip then straighten the blade. The clip can then use the blade as a sort of ramp to slide up & over the roll while pulling backwards. Each clip can be done individually.
I have used this method & it can work (can, not will).
Otherwise, a thin long screw driver can also work by pushing the centre of the clip upwards to enable the end to travel over the "roll".
If all else fails, destroy the plywood & simply use the old piece/pieces as a template. This way (if you so desire) you can make a new section to fit a newer/better interior light. A Freelander interior light looks good in one of my cars.
Regards, Scott.
