traveller rear seat hinge

Can anyone suggest where I can get hold of the captive nuts that the hinge for the rear seat back on a traveller screws into?

They are 2BA captive and are recessed into the underside of the floorboard, held in by nails.

They need to be flush with the underside of the floorboard as otherwise the bottom of the seat back will hit the screws & nuts when it folds down. Haven't seen anything like them anywhere.

Hi Neil send me a pm and I will dig some info out, I managed to get some but they were the last the guy had in stock and were slightly different as they didn't need pins, and he had not seen any since he bought his stock some years ago but there is a metric alternative 5mm (not to good with metric sizes) I think is the nearest size.

Are the ones you have stripped? If not I would be inclined to reuse them.

they are not stripped, but they have had wood screws put in them which has damaged the threads. 2BA machine screws will go in but they get very stiff which tends to damage the heads.

do you know if the screws are cut short to about half an inch?

You might be able to rescue the nuts by running a 2BA tap through to clean up the threads. I'm sure I have one somewhere if you want to send me them to have a try. I can't remember how long the screws were but presumably not much longer than they need to be to fully engage the nut. I'm pretty sure they have countersunk heads.
