Hi, could someone post some photos of an engine bay fitted with a 1275, so I can see just how much room is left between the rad and fan, or heater tap and battery shelf, etc? Cheers!

Rad and fan will be no different - provided still using the Minor fan. The heater take-off does go close to the battery tray - but a straight spigot as fitted to later 1275 models solves the problem easily.

yes, fan seems to not have a problem, but my fan was contacting the breather at the front of the engine...a bit of a pain!

Aye - well either gently batter the breather flat (which may cause the timing chain case to rub on the chain/sprockets) - or take it off and cut a slice off and weld on a 'flat' - or fit a spacer twixt fan and water pump pulley - or, bend the fan blades slightly away from the breather!

If you do have a problem with the heater tap by that I mean the later sliding one just change it for a gate valve type as fitted on the earlier cars, it does seem to vary from car to car probably down to production differences. If you send me a PM with your email I can send you some photo's.

I cut a notch in my battery tray with a grinder, only a small 'chunk', to accommodate the original heater tap.
As for the breather, I bashed the front side in. Theres nothing inside the breather to get damaged, just be careful you dont muller the whole chain cover.
I also bent the fan blades out ever so slightly.
Job done, and at no expense.
