as above, what size are the bolts and nuts that hold in the master cylinder?
what sort of tool is easiest to get in there?
it already looks like they have been reversed at some stage

Hello Tortron,
I beleive they are 3\8"W 5\16"BSF (confusing if you are not familiar with Whitworth spanners as that is actually the same size) An open end spanner for the outer (adjacent to the torsion bar and any other spanner\socket on the inner side.
If the nuts are adjacent to the torsion bar, then yes they have been reversed (Sensible)
