Greetings from the beautiful Niagara Region, Ontario, Canada.
I have just been privileged to buy, from the original owner, a 1950 MM Tourer fitted with an Alta head and Derrington headers with twin SUs. The car has been used very little in the last few years and will need a bit of sorting out but it has passed the safety inspection and it's on the road. I will look forward to hearing from those of you who know best why MMs leak oil, especially if you are familiar with the Alta kit.

Some pics would be good - especially of the Derrington 'headers' - because i think I have an old set in stock!
Meantime- welcome aboard.

There were several requests for pix but I have not yet figured out how to post them to this board.

Try this link to my Picasa album. Enjoy!

now if I understood the captions well that's a period modified car!! which makes it extremly rare, the rag top converison I read on some book was made by some garages in the 50s! and it's very neat!!! hope you'll enjoy that car! but maybe a stupid question where's the battery?

The back seat has been replaced by a flat-lidded storage area which includes the battery. People can sit back there but not very comfortably.

Pictures worked well - nice car. Has it always been in Canada ? The inlet header does look to be same design as mine - except of course mine is narrower for an A series engine. I hadn't realised the Alta head had two exhaust ports in the centre.

A rare beast eh! Looks well looked after, with a pleasing 'lustre' to the aluminum. Has it been converted since new (ish) or was that a fairly recent (ish) mod?

Great looking car Darrell and untouched mechanically since 1958 so at least you know all the parts are correct.
