Fitting Mini Heater - What's Needed?

I have the later fresh air heater fitted and have been offered a heater matrix from a Mini - nothing else, just the matrix. I will need the 5/8" hoses I think, but apart from them, is this all that is required to upgrade the heater, and does it fit straight into the Minor heater housing?

I've just had a look at eBay and there are two basic versions it seems - up to 1984 with the inlet and outlet connections wide apart and 1984 and later with them much closer together - do either fit the Minor, or do I need a complete unit? Again, if so which one!

When I had both types apart -the matrix was identical between Minor and Mini. Advantage for me was that the Mini fan is a bit larger - and blows considerably more air!

Hmm - well on mine the rad was near enough identical and so it was easiest to use the complete Mini heater casing and rad - but with the Minor front plate and flap swapped over - it fitted perfectly - and yes I did have to drill etc to take the switch. The real advantage is in the better fan - the rad on mine was same size (within a few mm) - but was nice and clear!
