New or old chrome?

I was wondering if anyone has experience of the new chrome (such as bonnet hinges) that you can get these days? Is it any good? And how does it compare with new or good condition old stock?

I've never had a problem with new bonnet hinges, unlike other repro chromed parts. I presume thats because its a brass casting and so the chrome takes well to it and the base material doesnt rust even if the chrome is thin. Hockey sticks and Series 2 middle screen pillars are the same for eg.
Of course if you can find NOS ones then good luck!

Just did, and if they aren't Mazac, they're something very, very similar. Don't think brass would snap the way these do

Originals are certainly mazac, but I was under the impression that the repro ones are brass. I've never had any that have corroded and they seem heavier than the originals. Maybe one case where repro parts are better than originals?

Could well be - I've always got old ones, after experience of modern chrome
