Morris Minor Owners Club

Hi All,
By way of introduction my name's Mick, I live in Burton on Trent, UK and I've just bought my first Minor: a '65 Tourer/Convertible in Smoke Grey.

My question is: Does anyone know if it's possible to get the black plastic bit off the end of the indicator stalk? And if so how? There appears to be the remains of a broken lens at the bottom of the threads in mine and consequently I can't get the new one in Please see below.

AFAIK, it isn't. I've never managed it, anyway, and I've tried

try and get the remains of the lens out with a pair of tweazers it has worked for me
