Disgusted by Critch Minor Day

Second post, it appears the first was MODERATED.

I'm aware that the day was orgainsed by the Tramway Museum, however following an early arrival, what a welcome!! felt like I had a dose of anthrax. EM Branch who appear to do nothing during the year (can you find a post in Minor Matters that explains their activity) tried to bag the prime location and made others who arrived earlier feel uncomfortable.

Last event I attend.

It wasn't "moderated" - I simply said that I didn't understand it. Have another look - it's a little incoherent. Sorry

I had a good day too. Never been on a tram in my life - and after that hill Im going to choose next ride on the flat! Weather didn't seem to stop everyone climbing into the cars and driving up and down the street. A lovely sight about 60 cars mostly with lights on with the trams as well. It looked like one of those period postcards come to life. Recomend it for next year.

Hi Ricky

It appears you have some issues with the East Mids branch - you say they "tried to bag the prime location" - this had been prebooked well in advance for their branch cars and gazebo for their charity Tombola and space for the Marie Curie Daffodil Car. There was plenty of available space at the "Town End" and elsewhere. I was with them for a large part of the day and find your comments baffling.

You also say that the Emids branch appear to do nothing all year - well you obviously have never been in contact with them as they are a very active branch - up until recently they held 2 meetings per month, organise regular trips out and club stands at various steam fairs/rallies etc.

To say this is the last event you will attend I'm afraid shows what a true enthusiast you are.

i cant see what his problem was it was a good day.i am a shy person but i still speak to people.we are all friendly and approciable.this is the 60th year of the moggy.and we should be celebrating that fact, not saying things that that is the last evrnt i will attend.is it me or is there an apathy for not using your cars.we have 50 members in the herts branch and its the usuall gang that turn out.come on get in your mog and drive it,gets off soapbox.

That's exactly what I am hoping a lot of people will do :D I will post details of the route shortly. Hopefully others will be able to join us for at least a part of the run.

Remember, if you can get sponsorship for the Million Mile Challenge, so much the better.

Ricky,
Having done some further investigation I have found that in fact your original post was not moderated and/or deleted. It can be found under the heading 'Drive it Day photos', as can biggingers reply.
