A friend of mine and myself are getting the Australian made "Monaro"
Twin Carburettor manifolds remade to suit the Morris Minor series MM Sidevalve engine.
We live in AUSTRALIA.
We are very close to getting the first "Trial" sets of the Monaro Motors Twin carby manifolds cast. We feel we should have them available ready for sale in about 2-3 months.
We will have available:
Airfilter manifold - This allows you to use a single original Oil Bath AIR filter.
The inlet manifold - To suit two SU carbies.
The two throttle levers.
& Manifold Gasket.
The question is, it is costing us quite a bit of money to get this up and running, so can I ask to see what sort of interest there is amungst your Series MM owner members in the UK Clubs? We feel that the price will be quite resonable, however we will not have final pricing for approx 4-6 weeks., as depends on the interest shown and how many we have made.
We are also looking at the exhaust manifold/extractors.
These may be about 3-4 months away.
We are also looking at getting the removable metal side screen frames for Series MM Tourers redone with the pins and the sockets that attach to the body and also the metal plate that lays over the seem weld on the rear window apperture.
Please advise if you would have any intereset in the above.
Also please email me back if you have any further questions.
Or register your interest with me and we can advise more details and ophotos as they become available.

Well I am reading from a book called Australian Low Lights, which has a contemporary article from Australian Monthly Motor manual August 1952 & I quote:
"made the Minor a real "mighty atom""
"the transformation proves to be amazing"
"maximum speed in second gear is (normally) about 30 mph. This is now increased to over 40 mph and in third from 50 to 60 mph. Another point is that on a standard car the maximum speed is betwwen 61-63 miles per hour. With the Twin carburetters a maximum in the range of 75 is possible"
"In fact it has the excellent point of greatly improving the torque around 10-15 miles per hour".

Hi, Sounds interesting! The gains you speak about, is that just with the twin carb setup? ie no exhaust mod. I presume the manifolds are separated (by sawing?)
I'd be interested in giving the old girl a bit more oomph! but as I have got a pretty new stainless exhast I would be a bit reluctant to remove it so soon. Have you any pictures/links showing what your up to?

The artical mentions the fitting of a "Bunch of bananas" outlet manifold, (Extractors), and a Burgess type Silencer with a 3/16" oversize diametere tail pipe. BUT it says "However, these are not wholly necessary in the conversion"
So yes you could saw your manifold to suit, or we are also looking at producing an Exhaust Extractor manifold as well. If we have a more efficient mixture of fuel/air going in, it makes sence to me to have a more free flow exhaust system to compliment the carb set up.
We are just getting the "prototype" manifolds cast shortly, so no actual pictures of them as yet, possibly another couple of months, but I do have a photo of an "original" set of which ours are being based upon. I can email you a photo if you care to PM me with your email address?
