Registration transfers...

I have a registration held on retention and we would like to put it on my dads Saab.

At the moment he is not a nominee on the certificate, and thus we cannot transfer the registration straight to his car without making him a nominee.

I can transfer the registration to my transit for free, is there a way to trasfer a number from one vehicle to another (registered to someone else but at the same address)?

The only way is to send the retention certficate back and add your Dad as a nominee for £25! :o
If you put it on the transit it will then cost you a further £80 to take it off again onto the Saab.
The transfer to the transit is not for free, you have already paid the transfer fee when you paid for the retention!

The other thing to check is that the certificate is still valid mate as they only last 12 months and they don't send you a reminder when they are due to expire either!

Simple - you 'buy' the Saab from your dad - then transfer the number to it, then 'sell' it back to him!
