Tried to insure the streched traveller today with AON but they said they will only insure upto 1300 cc ( marina engined).
Who do you use?

Adrian Flux have a good reputation for highly modified classics. I have never used them though

Footman James are pretty good but I have not tried to insure anything over 1275cc, I am sure Plastic Orange can point you in the right direction as he doesn't have a problem with his V8.

Peter Best will insure a 2 litre modified, as I asked for a quote when I was thinking of buying one - decided against it though! I'm with Footman James for the 1275 that I have now.

I'm with classicline through the National Association of Street Clubs for my V8 - £150.
My son's twin cam is through the NSRA insurers, but is on off road cover just now - he was around £300 for the road policy.

Our customer has just had major problems with A.F. His claim has been passed on through several other companies other than the original policy company.
The car is a total loss but the insurers refuse to pay any amount out due to the car being out of MOT. Needless to say the car in question was garaged at the time. One very unhappy customer, and severely out of pocket. The moral is ask about the 'get out ' clauses or obtain a T and C document before signing anything.
