well ihave just scrapped ( small area )some possibly 40 year old underseal from the under neath of my car and i got back to shiny black paint ( except for the outer cills which have surface rust)
i took some underseal off the front chassis legs and they are white

could this be the original paint i wonder

probably yes Den if the cars were dipped I'm sure the chassis legs would have the same colour as the car!
