Erm, can anyone tell me the maximum regrind size for the above crank. I've been offered a reground one that is -60 thou, but the manual only lists -40 thou as a second regrind!
Would 60 thou be a problem?

60 thou would not be a probem if you can get 60 thou oversize shells to suit. The largest I have ever seen is 40 thou shells.

Thanks Cam,
60 thou shells are available but what I'm more concerned about is the strength of the crank after such a regrind. Has anyone tried this?

Yes, I see what you mean, as the 803 cranks were always supposed to be quite weak anyway.
But an extra 10 thou shouldn't weaken it too badly anyway otherwise the shells would not be available if no-one wanted to do it. All the same, it would be nice to hear from someone who has fitted a 60 thou undersize crank

You could try giving a call to the guy who is supposed to be a side valve specialist if any one should know he would
