Glovebox Clock

Post by alanworland »

I have just got hold of a Smiths clock to fit in my glovebox. It wasn't sold as a Series MM clock but it is 87mm diameter and supposed to come from a 1957 Oxford and was a lot cheaper! Any how it fits the hole a treat and the dial matches the others so with some bracket mods all should be well.
How does the wiring for these clocks enter the glovebox, should it come through a new hole in its base or through the slot at the top and did they have a dial light to come on with the other panel light?
Any help much appreciated

Sorry, can't help you on that one. I cheated and used a quartz replica.
Looks the same from the outside and you just have to change the battery every couple of years.

Thats what I was going to do, but then I saw this. I have just installed a couple of 30mA bulbs inside the clock so it now gives the same eerie glow as the other instruments!
