Upper trunnion, polybushes.

Done the front trunnions, new dampers and new track rod ends, it's much tighter, the old bushes were very badly work and the dampers were leaking like seives. The track rod ends had play in them. very happy now.

I've put polybushes in the new trunnions (upper) and wondered, what to torque the nut up to? There's a locking washer, but how much should I tighten before locking it off? I presume on the damper side I just tighten loads then put in the splitpin. That's what I've done, cause it's on a taper.

I JUST TIGHTEN AND THEN LET THE CAR DOWN TO SETTLE THE SUSPENSION AND THEN JUST NIP THE NUT UP AND LOCK DOWN

If the bushes are the correct lengths - then I think the 'thick' washer should come up against a shoulder on the pin. But - as above - tighten it as seems reasonable when the suspension is loaded - and maybe check again in a few days time after some running.

That is correct, the shoulder on the special washer stops any overtightening so do the nut up fully after bouncing the suspension.

Risk is that hard poly bushes may not allow the washer to come up to the shoulder without extreme tightening!

it does depend on where the poly bushes were bought as well, as there are so many diferent makes on the market

the best that i can gather are superflex

Never seen a poly bush that has no compression values. Nylon ones maybe, but none of the trade stock ones in poly this hard.
Buy Superflex they are in my opinion the best available, based on proper technical specifications for each different application.
