In-Line Brake Servo

Hi I have recently bought a 1968 Morris 1000, I have drums on it at the moment which need a serious overhaul. I am planning on fitting an In-Line Brake Servo to increase the quality of the brakes.

My question is, can I fit one of these to my existing drum brakes on a single circuit, without too much of a problem.

Also Is this the best way forward or should I save up the pennies and get a brake disc conversion kit.
What are your thoughts on this.

My thoughts are - dont bother. :lol:

Once overhauled and rebuilt I think you'll be surprised at just how good standard drums are.

Unless you're planning a major engine upgrade or you're an old lady you dont really need a servo.
My Morris brakes as well as my new escort. Pedal feel isn't quite as positive but theres not a whole world of difference.

if you stay on drums you won't need it If you move to discs it will help and some insurance companies will frown on you if you dont have a servo with discs

Just over haul the drums properly - front and rear - and unless you are doing competition work they will be fine - and that's without a servo. To fit a servo is a little complex because at the moment the master cylinder feeds a line directly to the rear axle, and so thjis has to be blocked and a new line run back to the axle from the servo outlet. It's not difficult - just a bit more work than on a 'normal' car.
