I have an oil leak from the rear crankcase bearing. Has anyone used an oil leak stopper product successfully? If so any recommendations?

Thanks

Waste of money, they are all 'snake oil'. If this is a standard engine the rear crank seal is of the scroll type, so not a real seal, it just 'winds' the oil back into the sump.

Common cause for a leak here is insufficient crankcase ventilation. So check the PCV system before doing anything.

It can also be caused by badly worn main bearings - allowing far too much oil to get at the seal. But it is indeed a good idea to clean out the engine breathing system and if possible connect it to the carb rather than the air filter casing - where it splatters oil fume all over the filter anyway. Basic check - engine hot and idling - take off the oil filler cap - if there is a plume of smoke/fume then really the engine needs an overhaul, and no amount of engine breathing will stop it leaking.
