I need a rollcage for my van, well when it's finished. So I'm gathering any info, I'm sure there's not one made for the van itself so will probably need to adapt one. Does anyone know if there is one made for a Minor?

'Safety Devices' do one for the moggie saloon, a six point bolt-in competition cage.
Have you thought of making your own? I think it would be easier and more economical than altering a saloon cage. Maybe it's worth asking them if they make one off's or if they could alter it for you. Their website is:

Thanks Robins, I have thought about making one, but I'm not sure of the best or correct places to anchor it, also material and diameters, will check out the site.

If you require a cage for competition (unlikely as the RACMSA normally do not allow commercial vehicles to compete) then it must apply to the specs in the RACMSA blue book. Get hold of one and it tells you all about mounting, tube sizes etc

Basically it must be anchored on a strong place. Think about what would happen if the cage was required. If it was bolted to the floor it would go straight through it. So the the cage must be mounted at strong points, ie the sills with spreader plates.

If the cage is for your own protection then 1 /1/2" dia is big enough. Any larger and you will loose interior space.

I have built quite a few cages for Minors, www.beardmorebros.co.uk will have pictures. I make templates and get a local tube bender to bend my tubes. I then profile the ends so the tubes fit together and weld it all together.
