Hello
Sorry for a stupid question, but can somebody help me

I have just taken on a project that was started by somebody else and the headlights and indicators on my 1968 traveller are disconnected from the wiring loom

I have tried to follow the wiring diagram but without success

can somebody tell me what colours to connect to which? in a fairly simple format so somebody who is inexperienced can follow it!!!
Cheers
Steve

hello there should be 3 wires coming from the headlights which pass through the inner wing & connect to the main loom with bullit conectors. blue/white is for the main beam , blue/red is for the dip beam & a black one which should earth to the body
same for the indicator /sidelight but there should be 2 wires. red for the sidelights & green one for the indicator the right one should connect to a green/white wire & the left one to a green/red one. the indicator/sidelight should earth though the base to the wing .hope this helps

Wiring on a Minor couldn't be any more basic really. Where are the wires disconnected ? As above - or further back in the loom ?

If you get any trouble, don't use a multimeter to test for live feeds on the loom - they can cause more confusion. Best bet is to use a 12v bulb (prefferably about 20w bulb) with wires attached - ideal would be a red and a black wire so it's easier to remember what you were doing.
e.g. if all lights are off and you then turn the sidelights on, you should be able to light up the bulb from the wire that feeds the sidelights.

If the live feeds are ok, but you still get trouble, you want another lead -prefferably with a crocodile clip on one end to make up a temporary earth direct to a light fitting.
