Apologies if this has been covered before.

Reading the thread about poor quality parts, set me to thinking about the 'Part Interchangeability Guide' published in several parts by PC a while back.

If anyone knows of tried & tested 'new' replacements where absolute originality does not matter so much as useability (eg. steering rack gaiters) why not post it here for the good of all?

As a start to this thread I can tell you that volvo 440 and escort mk11 estate rear shock absorbers fit the backs of vans and pickups with a bit of swapping of bushes and sleeves and they are a heck of a lot cheaper than the originals.
