Hi everyone, i'm new to this place and new to Morris Minors too.
I've had lots of classics ie 3 old beetles, 3 capris, 2 mk1 golf cabriolets and now i find myself buying a morris 1000, which found locally. It's a bit of a dodgy colour (brown) didn't know they were made that colour but the chassis appears to be generally sound and the rust on panels looks superficial apart from door bottoms..
When i get it i'll start tinkering and i'll be back asking for adviceon here, so hope you can all help.
Is there anyone local to Portsmouth ?
Anyone on here do resprays and a good price (not looking for showroom condition).
any way here's what i'm getting.

Again, welcome to the forum and to Moggies! They can be addictive, nice few motors you have had there.

I believe the colour to be Peat (that replaced Rose Taupe in late 1967) Peat is a more chocolaty colour whereas Rose Taupe has the pinkish tinge.

I would agree Dale, my convertible is Rose Taupe, but I do think this one is Peat Brown.

I went to school in the 60's with a boy called Pete Brown. He came from Vietnam, and lived in Fingringhoe.

Yes it's definitely Peat brown, the guy selling it told me, but when i checked your colour charts it isn't listed so i was wondering if the guy particularly liked this and it was a custom puke job erm paint job.

Welcome. Yes there are a few around your way, and a few more to the east of Southampton. As Pompey seems to be an increasing hotspot for Minors you should get your heads together for a regular chat or join in the SADMOG crew when we head out that way.
