Stering Wheel - removal and horn push

My son has acquired an older, Banjo?, steering wheel for his 70 Minor Murphy. 2 challenges have arisen.
The first is removal of the original 2 spoke wheel, what size is the securing nut and is a thin walled socket the best removal tool if available? If not how else as the gap between the nut and internal wall of boss is tight?
Secondly the horn push electrical arrangement is different. The replacement wheel, 3sets of 4 spokes, has a larger centre push than the existing which is smaller and more compact so the contact arrangement looks different. Is their a way to adapt either the older horn push or the wiring for horn to fit the older wheel arrangement?
Cheers
