Hi again

Sorry if this is a silly question but tried a search but couldnt find anything when I did a search. I would please like to know what size the rims are on the traveller?

I might want to stick some other/aftermarket ones are like some good examples and would like to know what size I can get, eg, 7 x 16, 4 x 100pcd, et 37 etc etc.

I can't remember the width of the car wheels, but they are 4 inch PCD, not 100 mm - those'll snap a Minor stud in no time. The specialists sell Minilite lookalikes in the right PCD, but beside that, I think you'll be looking for a while for anything different that fits.

Car wheels are 3.5" wide - and yes the 4" pcd makes for a very restricted supply of alternative wheels. You MUST NOT try to fit modern 100mm pcd wheels! Ifyou convert to Marina hubs then a slightly greater range of wheels becomes available at 3.75" pcd. Some also convert to Ford hubs etc - which opens up a much greater range, but it's not a cheap thing to do.
Edit - 3.5 " was a mis-type - it is of course 3.75"

Or if you want alloys 14" x 165 many of the suppliers now keep them in stock. They dont involve anything more than just changing the wheels!

Marina is 3.75" not 3.5" BM.
Go no more than a 5.5" alloy on the small diameter wheel studs

Sorry - my mis-type (now corrected) I well know it's 3.75 - same as my TR7!

If fitting alloys, it involves fitting longer wheel studs too - the old ones don't protrude far enough through the wheel - and new nuts the correct profile for the new wheels.

BG, sorry to contradict you but I did not need to fit longer wheel studs to my car and the new nuts are provided when you buy the new wheels. My car was completely standard when I changed the wheels.

The Minortor (or whatever they're called) ones? I got a set 2nd hand,so needed the nuts, and the thread left exposed on trying on the original studs was minimal, if any. Certainly not enough for me to be happy with, at any rate.

Most 'Minilite' type alloy wheels use a sleeve nut that fits inside the largish holes in the wheel and screws onto the original studs.

Just dragged this up again 'cos it could be safety related. Been asking about and still say that you need longer wheel studs, and that the Minator Minilite reps need tapered, not sleeved nuts - pic of the ones from ESM here http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/ind ... 9c2c5c7727 NOT saying that I'm right, just saying if you're fitting them, you do the homework yourself
