Life in the slow lane

Hi All
Only one week into a moggy owner, (But I did have one some 15 years ago) But they are such fun, the smell of a old non EEC regulated engine, the lack of a airbag, the missing computer diagnosis, the drum brakes, and a steering wheel as big as fairground wheel. And me been a short a--e I have to use a cushion on the drivers seat. A good set of spanners, a good BL manual and you can repair them. A new Ford no chance just open the wallet, or purse Ladies, and that will do nicely, says the mechanic, Oh sorry these days its technician. As you potter along you dont have to constantly check the rear view mirror, everybody is overtaking you, you chill out and enjoy the scenery. Occasionally the gears grate as you miss-time the change, engine braking whats that says a 17 yr old in his go faster Fiesta. Now double de-clutching thats another world.
All I run is my 1967 moggy (called Molly) not original but my first cat was called Molly and a 1976 Honda 400/4 both clasic both good fun.
Just a little craic.
