Hi
does anyone else have this problem;
during the last 12 months the car appears to have burnt out 2 coils. It has a Marina 1300 engine fitted with a luminition kit

Hello Steve,

my initial thought is a ballast type coil fitted to a full voltage system, i.e. ballast type coils are designed for about 8 volt supply to the coil when running?

Yes - check the coil resistance when you buy a new one - it should be ~ 3 ohms.
