The heater in my moggy is permanantly on, the speed dial works.
It has been like this since i got the car, so im not sure how it should usually operate.
How can i fix this?

If you mean permanantly warm, then there is a brass valve on the back of the cylinder head (next to the battery), turn this and the heater should shut off the heat.
Or did you mean that the fan blower was on all the time?

It would appear from your description that you have the "948cc" heater with a round knob to control the fan speed. Are you turning it the correct way? Fully clockwise is minimum speed, as you turn anticlockwise the fan speed increases and turning a bit further in the same direction should stop the fan.
If the fan doesn't stop then it's possible the switch/reostat is faulty.

Thats right.
On closer inspection, it appears the heater is simply jammed into the space between the dash and parcel shelf!
Wiggling a screwdriver in the rheostat seemed to do the trick, and fixed it
Thanks again
