Protecting chrome

Post by southerly95 »

I've bought a Lucas 494 reversing light for my daughter's Traveller but as the car is used daily I'm wondering about protecting the chrome at the back with clear paint lacquer, does this work ok would anyone know? Thanks, John

I tried lacquering chrome once and it wasn't very good (started to lift and trap moisture/salt) might be better if it was rubbed down (keyed) first!
Best thing is to keep it clean and in bad weather lightly greased or waxed
