I took one of the kick plates off the other day and found that somebody has whacked a big lump of filler on either side, not sure yet why...

so the question is, is the triangular prism area under the kickplates completely hollow?
And do I dare remove this filler and unearth something horrific?!

By the way both of those photos are from one side, the other kick plate isn't off yet as I think part of it has been welded on!! Grrr

I think who ever did this was trying possibly / poorly trying to seal the ends to try stop water ingress. You have to remove it to check what is underneath it. Or what it’s hiding.:-? :-? :-?

Just what I was about to say too. The rear one's within the prescribed area for the seat belt mounting too, btw, so if you have belts it definitely needs checking - needs it if you haven't too, really
