Yes it's got worse over the past few months. The Kingpin issue is a disgrace, as any MOT fails for KP's will be off the road till July. One supplier seems to have less stock since a certain takeover a few months back, so could be a bean counter thing. Same supplier has now stopped doing recon engines, with a link direct to Sealy Engines. They stopped doing gearboxes a few months back. Their engines were very sweet.

Seems daft to me, I for one have started using one of the other major suppliers for all parts.

Onwards and upwards.

But just because one supplier doesnt have them at the moment doesnt mean all suppliers are the same as Lou has stated with one item.
As a matter of interest Tierod Yokes,Brake Adjusters are both available from the club spares.

David I assume you have tried the club spares as they quote MM distributor caps available but I am not sure if thats the type you need.
Is it a
DC563 Distributor cap, vertical outlet, for DKY4A (Lucas 409563)
Because the Morris Register has these ones available.

I think that the point here is that some suppliers are slacking off when it comes to service!

Well I am sorry that you have read something between the lines that's not there, at no time did I make a derogatory remark in your direction and as you run your own business (which I have never done) that speaks for itself.
Its just that you seem to be constantly knocking the trading community and keep on bringing up the same issues over and over again.
True there is a problem with Kingpin supply but that was not caused by the Traders as Jonathon explained elsewhere.
Most of the issues seem to be from the manufacturing end of things some of which has been caused by owner drivers only wanting cheap parts instead of quality parts over the years, and now we are all paying the price for this.
Also Traders do run out of stock from time to time as you well know and if others still have stock its not really a problem and to be honest I think our parts suppliers hold better stocks of a far greater range of spares than any so called modern garage supplier and generally are really helpful unlike my local maindealers, and also give advice freely where possible. We can all quote instances of having problems but a chat to the supplier normally sorts this out quickly.
Its no wonder that some of the traders don't want to participate on this site which is a shame as I am sure their insite would be useful, but previous remarks almost had this site closed down by the MMOC due to perfectly valid complaints from a couple of traders, and the moderating team were pulled up at the time.
Anyway enough from boring old me and on with the Moggieitis I suffer from :D

As you rightly point out Kevin, the Morris Register has an online spares catalogue so why not the MMOC?

Again this is something I could be doing, but........... :(

well it was only an observation and not a gripe

we all have had problems from all suppliers i guess, and i dont think it hurts to keep them on there toes once in a while

was just letting others know,
shall not comment further
